I recently heard a story about a boy who has bought a new 1 TB external hard drive and copied all data from his laptop (his being) on the motor. He then proceeded to perform a recovery on his laptop to get rid of the useless waste of accumulated years, have over the past 2 years. When it came to transfer their data to the laptop out of his record, he realized that the external hard drive suddenly less sensitive than a piece of dead wood! He had lost all the musicHe film and working papers that had accumulated over the years, and the photo (the only evidence) that he took this cute model, it would be 5 years ago, before kissing the joys of beer and then discovered to be moved overweight, wannabe-athlete who has never had the chance again.
The fact is that a portable external hard drive rather fragile by nature, and given the large amount of information you carry around on it, it is important that we know andunderstand a couple of very important things to do and not do when it comes to this precious cargo. 1 Make sure the correct voltage
Probably the number one suspect for the murder of thousands of external hard drives every year. External hard drives are more sensitive than Michael Jackson when it comes to voltage fluctuations. Never use the power cord of your friend in case ofEmergency, if you do, you'll be sorry!
2 Do not mess things or make the drive
It starts you have a lot of people. External hard drives, in fact, computer systems are usually allergic to the heat. Piling books or clothes on a disc causes air to be trapped in the drive, which then merge into an oven-like effect, which simply drive to overheat, catch fire, who knows?
3 Do not leave cables connected in danger
Whether it'sa power cord or the USB port of your external USB HDD to your PC, make sure that there is absolutely no way that someone can trip over any cables - this could be a disaster. In both cases the hard drive and knocked off its elevated position themselves in harm their case in fate, or the sudden removal of the data line during transmission of data can cause huge damage to both hard drives and PCs alike. Make sure that the connection Hoff is the proof that I mean even DavidHasselhoff could stumble drunkenly around your house without risk of tripping over any cables.
4. Switch the thing off when you're not using it
External hard drives, unlike laptops and pc's are not made to be left on permanently. Data corruption and overheating come into play when these devices are left on for long periods of time (especially when coupled with point 2 above).
5. Avoid switching use between PC and Mac
This is a silent killer. Not many people know this, but I've seen in my life. The flux of the drivers are used to transfer data between your external hard drive and the PC very different and Mac machines in corrupted data. If you must, but buy two separate units on different machines
These 5 small tips could save enormous amounts of regret. There are few things worse than losing all your data from external hard drive, and although the recovery of the external data is always a possibilityIdeally, do not want to end up in this situation. Any outside professional data recovery nightmare!
