King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies was founded in 1983 as the educational arm of the King Faisal Foundation and intellectual. The Centre is an independent non-profit organization and is funded by the Foundation. Library manuscripts as part of the foundations contribute to the preservation of Islamic culture and highlighting the contributions of Muslim scholars and Arabs, made the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies at the difficult task of identifying,Authentication, purchase or copying and indexing of all the manuscripts known throughout the Islamic world. In addition to nearly 23,000 manuscripts, some of which more than 1200 years, the archives are more than 18,000 manuscript microfilm and hundreds of photocopies. Most of the microfilms are acquired through reciprocal agreements with the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the Library of Congress and British Library. Databases to store up to 70% of the time the researchers, wouldNormally go searching catalogs for information on manuscripts in other parts of the world. History, humanities and social sciences and international affairs of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies has recently acquired a rare collection of 14,000 Latin title on European issues, such as art and literature.
